Alidou scores against parent club FCK

Fortuna Düsseldorf celebrated an extremely important victory in the relegation battle against Dynamo Dresden. In coach Alexander Ende’s home debut, the Rhinelanders won 3-1 (2-0). Thanks to the success, Fortuna left the relegation zone of the 2nd Bundesliga, at least for the time being. Düsseldorf now has 34 points, one point less than the guests from Saxony, who are also under threat.
Cedric Itten (11th minute), Emmanuel Iyoha (17th) and Luca Raimund (58th) scored the goals for Fortuna. For Düsseldorf it was the first win after five defeats in a row. Dresden had recently won twice in a row and still has to worry about staying in the league. Jakob Lemmer (90th) only scored for Dynamo shortly before the end.
Fortuna got off to a dream start. A long shot from keeper Florian Kastenmeier slipped through to Itten, who ran freely towards the Dresden goal. Dusseldorf goalkeeper Tim Schreiber, by far the best goalscorer, confidently overcame. And it got even better for the hosts.
After a corner, Iyoha shot, Dresden’s Robert Wagner deflected and the score was 2-0. Dynamo also had their chances in an entertaining game. Wagner failed due to the strong Kastenmeier (34th), while on the other side Schreiber parried against Itten (41st). When Raimund increased the score to 3-0 after the break, the game was decided. Lemmer’s late goal didn’t change that.
Eintracht Braunschweig surprises in the relegation battle
Eintracht Braunschweig got an important away win against 1. FC Kaiserslautern in the relegation battle. The previous table 16th. won 2-0 (1-0). The early opening goal was scored by Lauterer loanee Faride Alidou in the 14th minute. The attacker took advantage of a mistake by 18-year-old FCK goalkeeper Enis Kamga, whom coach Torsten Lieberknecht had surprisingly given preference to regular Julian Krahl. Lieberknecht coached BTSV for ten years and had to watch his former club score a second goal in the 72nd minute from Erencan Yardımcı.
44,353 spectators on the Betzenberg whistled loudly for their team after the final whistle. Eintracht were very deep from the start and were waiting for a counterattack. And so Kaiserslautern was the dominant team before the break, but far too harmless. Kamga was unable to defuse a shot from Lino Tempelmann on his professional debut and Alidou, who was only signed in January, took the lead to give the guests the lead.
After the FCK fans had already whistled their team farewell at half-time, Kaiserslautern continued to try hard after the break. Lieberknecht’s team appeared extremely unsettled in their passing game and hardly ever posed any danger. On the other side, substitute Yardımcı used a counterattack to achieve the final score.
