Minister Sterk (Long-Term Care, Youth and Sports) will pay a working visit to Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba from Monday, April 27 to Friday, May 1. During her visit, she will meet the healthcare and welfare institutions, social organizations and the Executive Councils of the islands to discuss the state of healthcare, youth care and the social domain.

Bonaire

The working visit starts on Bonaire. Here she makes two visits in the context of domestic violence and child abuse, namely to the Refugio Tabitha women’s shelter and to the Guiami advice and reporting point. The next day the minister visits Fundashon Mariadal, Bonaire Medical Center, Mental Health Caribbean and Sentro Akseso Boneiru. She also meets the Executive Council and acting Kingdom Representative Jan Helmond. On the last day, after a tour of FKPD in Rincon, the renovated Misa di Rincon playground will be reopened. Finally, the minister speaks with representatives of ZW Group and visits Rosa di Sharon.

St. Eustatius

The minister meets with the Executive Council on St. Eustatius. She then makes a home visit in the context of youth care and visits the Sint Eustatius Health Care Foundation and Auxiliary Home. She also speaks with representatives of the Public Health Department and Social Directorate of the public body of Sint Eustatius.

Saba

The minister meets the Executive Council on Saba. She also visits the Domestic Violence Shelter and speaks with representatives of the Community Development and Culture Department of the public body Saba. The working visit will conclude with a visit to Saba Cares, where part of the new nursing home will also be opened.
