The PVV may also join the coalition of the municipality of Steenbergen. Informer Leon Aanraad advises to start coalition negotiations with the People’s Party, PVV and VVD. This would be the PVV’s first participation in the Steenberg municipal council.
The informant concludes that there is direction to be seen after the election results and discussions. The People’s Party and the PVV became the largest parties in the elections.
Aanraad sees many similarities and points of contact between these parties and the VVD on themes such as housing construction, quality of life and finances. He therefore states that this ‘engine block’, i.e. the People’s Party, VVD and PVV, forms the best basis for a “stable, decisive and future-proof period of government”.
Majority
After the presentation of the final report, the formation begins. This means that the parties will discuss further cooperation. The People’s Party has asked Aanraad to become a formateur.
The People’s Party and the VVD have never previously been in a coalition together in Steenbergen. Together with the PVV, the three parties had a majority of 10 out of 19 seats.
It was also announced earlier that the PVV in Rucphen has a good chance of participating in the coalition.
