Charge of first degree murder
A good six months after the body was found, D4vd was charged with the murder of Celeste Rivas on April 20, 2026. Prosecutor Hotchman confirmed this to reporters. The indictment reads as follows: The musician is accused of having sex with the underage victim; As a result, he is said to have dismembered the girl.
According to BBC News, the prosecutor said the last thing known about the deceased’s disappearance was that the 15-year-old went to the 21-year-old’s house and “was never seen again.” He also explained the three charges in more detail to “BBC News”: In addition to first-degree murder, it is also about “financial enrichment”, as D4vd is said to have tried through his actions to save his career, which “threatened Celeste on that particular night”. The third count concerns the murder of the 15-year-old, who was also a witness to sexual offenses committed by the defendant.
D4vd pleads not guilty
The “Romantic Homicide” interpreter has pleaded not guilty to all charges. According to BBC News, he did not speak a word during the opening of the indictment in the courtroom; only his lawyers commented. His team said: “The actual evidence will show that David did not kill Celeste.” Additionally, the lawyers would “vigorously defend David’s innocence.”
If convicted, D4vd faces life imprisonment or the death penalty, experts say.
