Portishead want to raise funds at a benefit show for Ukraine this month. It is the band’s first concert in seven years.

The concert, organized by War Child UK, is set to take place on May 2nd at the O2 Academy Bristol. Also on the program are IDLES, Katy J Pearson and Heavy Lunge. 1200 people will be lucky enough to win tickets to the concert. But don’t panic, if you don’t get a ticket, you can follow the concert live online after the draw. The proceeds from the event will be used, among other things, to help refugees and children affected by the war in Ukraine.

Portishead haven’t played together for a while. The four-piece band, consisting of Geoff Barrow, Beth Gibbons, Adrian Utley and Dave McDonald, last performed in 2015. After that, Beth Gibbons released an orchestral album with the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in 2016. Barrow has released one album and several soundtracks with his band Beak>.

The British band was formed in Bristol in 1991. Their debut DUMMY was released in 1994.
