Instead of a feeling of optimism after a TV appearance, a medical emergency followed: the front woman of the band Frida Gold, Alina Süggeler, said she suffered a cerebral hemorrhage. The 40-year-old announced on Instagram that the incident occurred a few days after returning from filming the Vox music show “Sing my Song – The Exchange Concert” in South Africa.
According to her own statements, the musician spent around three weeks in the intensive care unit and in the hospital. Photos she posted show her weakened and hooked up to medical equipment. The incident not only affected her physical health, but also fundamentally changed her self-image and perception, wrote Süggeler.
Filming in Cape Town and TV broadcast parallel to recovery
The current season of “Sing meine Song”, hosted by Johannes Oerding, was produced in Cape Town and is currently airing on television. Süggeler is one of the participants in the 13th season, which was already recorded before the health problems occurred.
After a “stormy” start to the year with tour preparations, video shoots and other projects, her view of this phase has now changed. The singer explained that today she looks back with gratitude on the intense time and with a new perspective on her life.
