Un another food alert on supermarket shelves. The Ministry of Health reported the recall of a batch of smoked salmon sold by Lidl due to possible contamination from Listeria monocytogenes. The invitation is clear: do not consume it and take it back to the store immediately.
The recalled product: how to recognize it
The affected product is the Deluxe brand Norwegian smoked salmon with pistachiothe Lidl’s premium line. These are 100 gram packs, processed in Italy by Compagnia del mare Srl in the Busto Arsizio factory, in the province of Varese.
The recall concerns exclusively lot LC22606501, with expiry date 21 April 2026. It is important to check this data carefully, because only this specific batch is involved.
What consumers should do
The indications from the health authorities are very precise. Anyone who has purchased this product must not consume it in any way, but take it back to the point of sale. Even without a receiptyou can get a refund or replacement, according to the supermarket’s standard procedures.
What is listeria and why is it a concern
There Listeria monocytogenes it is a particularly resistant and widespread bacterium in the environment, present in soil, water and vegetation. What makes it more insidious than other pathogens is its ability to survive and multiply even at low temperatures, including those of domestic refrigerators.
