According to a survey, the high fuel prices are causing many people to worry that they will have to limit themselves financially in everyday life in the future.
58 percent of those surveyed are very or even very worried about it, as shown in the survey carried out by the Forsa Institute on behalf of the Federal Association of Consumer Organizations (vzbv). Around 1,000 people were surveyed between April 9th and 13th.
“People with low incomes and many families in particular have hardly any financial leeway left,” said vzbv board member Ramona Pop. “The federal government must act now: with noticeable relief such as a reduction in electricity tax and more transparency in food prices in order to uncover unjustified price increases and ensure fair prices in supermarkets.”
