Guitarist of the band No Doubt Tom Dumont58, says he got sick with Parkinson’s disease.
Dumont told about it on his Instagram account on Saturday, April 11, when World Parkinson’s Day is celebrated.
Dumont says in the video he published that he started having symptoms a few years ago. He went to the doctor and underwent numerous tests.
– I was diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson’s disease, says Dumont.
– It is a daily struggle, Dumont describes his illness.

Dumont says the good thing about it is that he can still play the guitar. The musician also says that he was inspired by other people who have spoken openly about their health challenges.
– I believe it helps remove stigma and increases awareness.
Among others, Dumont has signed the publication founded by actor Michael J. Fox corporatewhich spreads awareness of Parkinson’s disease and supports research. Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1991 when he was 29 years old.
Parkinson’s Association of America APDA defines early-onset Parkinson’s disease if the person receiving the diagnosis is between 21 and 50 years old. Finnish Movement Disorders Association writes that in early-onset Parkinson’s disease, the motor skills begin at the age of 2145.
In his publication, Dumont does not say the exact time when he received his diagnosis.
Parkinson’s disease is a slowly progressing, incurable movement disorder disease, says Movement Disorders Association. It is characterized by tremors, muscle stiffness and general slowing down of movement, among other things. The symptoms are the result of the destruction of neurons involved in brain movement regulation.
In the early-onset form of the disease, in addition to the usual symptoms, there is a higher risk of dystonia, state fluctuations and compulsive movements.

The American band No Doubt, founded in 1986, will perform a series of 18 concerts in Las Vegas between May and June. Dumont says he is looking forward to the concerts with excitement. The band made a comeback in 2024 after a break of almost ten years.
No Doubt’s biggest hits include, among others Don’t Speak, Just a Girl, It’s My Life and Hella Good. The other members of the band are the singer Gwen Stefanithe bassist Tony Kanal and the drummer Adrian Young.
