FC Bayern are said to have found what they were looking for in England when looking for new personnel for the already extremely well-staffed attack department. The German football record champions are reportedly considering signing a teammate of Nick Woltemade.
Anthony Gordon has only scored a not exactly outstanding six goals in 26 Premier League games in the Newcastle United 2025/26 jersey, but the English international was incredibly accurate in the Champions League: Gordon scored ten times in the twelve games in his colors. Among other things, the left winger was able to enter the list of goalscorers against FC Barcelona (1:2) and Bayer Leverkusen (2:2).
A circumstance with which Gordon apparently made an impression on FC Bayern. According to “Sky”, the 25-year-old is “currently Bayern’s absolute preferred candidate”.
The TV station also reveals a possible transfer fee: around 60 million euros would have to change hands in order to get Gordon away from the Magpies. His contract there doesn’t end until summer 2030.
But that’s not all: “Sky” also claims to have found out about “very specific discussions” between the Munich team and the players. However, no direct exchange is said to have taken place with Newcastle.

However, that could prove to be a significant hurdle, as Newcastle are said to simply not be interested in letting their top performer go.
Gordon has played 152 competitive games for NUFC so far. He scored 39 goals and set up 28 more.
An opportunity could arise for the Munich team if Newcastle misses out on international business. As 14th in the table, this scenario is currently quite realistic. Financially, it will probably be difficult even for Bayern to stand up to Newcastle. The club is in the hands of the Saudi sovereign wealth fund PIF and has enormous financial resources.
Bayern felt this in the summer when Nick Woltemade moved from VfB Stuttgart to the English team for around 75 million euros. The Munich team also showed interest, but didn’t want to come close to this amount.
