The police have arrested a 50-year-old woman from Emmen on suspicion of involvement in the death of Ralf Meinema from Klazienaveen. He was found dead nine years ago in the Stieltjeskanaal, in the trunk of his car.

The woman who has now been arrested is Hans O’s partner. She is in complete restriction and is only allowed to have contact with her lawyer.

On Wednesday afternoon, dark clouds of smoke suddenly appeared above Ansen. A fire had broken out in a nature area northeast of the village. The timing is remarkable, as it is still quite early in the season.

This is evident from research by the Northern Netherlands Bar Association, which followed a complaint from Kim Stellingwerf, a photographer from Hoogeveen. As a result of that investigation, several lawyers were suspended and one lawyer was removed from office.
