Meloni maintained good relations with the right-wing populist Prime Minister of Hungary over the years. Meloni wrote that she was sure that Orban would continue to serve his country even when he was in opposition.
Italy and Hungary are, in her words, “nations bound by a deep bond of friendship.” After the parliamentary elections in Hungary, Meloni was convinced that the two countries would “continue to work together in a constructive spirit in the interests of our peoples and the common challenges at the European and international levels.”/rme/DP/zb
