Wilfred Genee cannot deny that there are people at Talpa who are rooting for the big boss John de Mol. “There is tension in the workplace. You can feel that,” says the host of Today Inside.

According to Angela de Jong, it is courageous that Yvonne Coldeweijer chose to take John de Mol’s media company to court. “In recent years I have seen enough people grovel for the big John. Afraid of antagonizing him, with all the consequences that entails. She completely hates it,” she writes in the A.D.

“Who’s crawling?”

What nonsense, shouts Johan Derksen. “I was a bit annoyed by Angela de Jong,” he says Today Inside. “She hates everything that belongs to John de Mol, and also to RTL. She hates commercial TV. And now she is standing up for that Coldeweijer.”

“It’s a great woman that she dares to do that, she thinks, because she has seen all kinds of people at Talpa crawling for John de Mol. Well, we have been working for Talpa for a number of years and I’m curious: who? Who have you seen crawling?”

‘John in pledge!’

Wilfred Genee thinks that Johan cannot deny that. “Well, you once said in this broadcast: ‘When John comes in, the sound goes through the building: John is in, John is in!’ Then everyone panics.”

Johan: “But that has nothing to do with John. Those are the people here, but it is not the case that people who work at Talpa and are on TV are rooting for John de Mol?”

Wilfred: “No, I don’t think the people on TV do. That’s different. He generally deals with that differently, if you don’t have to conduct negotiations.”

Tension on floor

Johan thinks it’s exaggerated. “Yes, but on top of that people can’t even root for him because how often do you see John de Mol? Twice a year or once a year.”

Wilfred: “No, but there is tension on the work floor. You can feel that.”

Johan: “What tension then?”

René van der Gijp: “He is there every day for other programs. We have seen that car here every time when he was working on that program.”

‘Fighting this!’

Johan persists: Angela is exaggerating the matter, he thinks. “He attends the big shows. Such an expression: ‘I have seen that all kinds of people are rooting for John de Mol’, then I think: dude, where do you get it from? That is just a smear campaign against Talpa.”

Wilfred: “There is tension when John comes in, you can’t deny that.”

Johan concludes: “Well, I don’t have any tension when John de Mol comes in, even if ten John de Mollen come in!”
