In his recent Instagram update, director Tuukka Temonen shares his thoughts about the difficult past few days.
– This week has been particularly sad and it still feels a bit unreal that “is this really true?”, says Temonen.
Temonen says he met this week Jenni’s. According to Temonen, Jenni has received the same brain cancer diagnosis that his late wife Olga Temose had. Jenni is also in the same drug trial.
– Her tumor had shrunk significantly and I was left wondering if Olga would have too if she had found out earlier about the recurrence? Temonen writes in his update.
Temonen also singles out the MTV reporter Joonas Lepistön death, which was reported on Thursday. The 44-year-old Lepistö also had cancer.
– I didn’t know him well, but our paths crossed at least once during the days of the Hämeenkyrö scale masons. He was too young and he too will miss his child and spouse.

Actress Olga Temonen had glioma. It was treated with the experimental drug ONC201. Tuukka Temonen explained the drug’s mechanism of action last summer to Iltalehti.
– Cells are constantly dividing in the body. If the cell divides poorly, i.e. makes an incorrect copy of itself, it has a self-destruct mechanism. When dividing incorrectly, the cell therefore kills itself. A cancer cell does not do that, so it divides incorrectly and continues to do so. This particular drug reminds the cancer cell of the self-destruct mechanism and starts it.
Olga Temonen went to treatments several times in Germany as well.
