TO DINNER WITH THE DICTATOR
Type: satirical slapstick comedy

How do you deal with a past that struggles to be completely erased? Even recovering a play that had taken ten years to arrive on the scene – since 1998 The dinner of the generals it had been written until 2008 when it finally had its “premiere” – and rediscovered through its characters the spirit of a Spain that despite everything did not want (and does not want) to lower its head.
The idea is simple: while the Spanish civil war is coming to an end, Generalissimo Franco decides to organize a dinner in the most important hotel in Madrid for himself and his generals and the young lieutenant Medina must take care that everything works perfectly.

The problem is that the hotel has become a hospitalthe best chefs are imprisoned for being left-wing, raw materials can only be found on the black market (which naturally the Franco supporters don’t admit exists) and the concierge seems to be hiding something…
Without ever a moment of tiredness, joking about the follies of discipline and honor, but also about morality not always reflected in those who should be proud of it, the film proceeds towards an ending that will reveal more than one surprise.
For those who want to laugh at a past that isn’t quite over.
