Mette-Marit returned to work for one day.

Mette-Marit’s health has recently taken a back seat. PDO

Norway’s Crown Princess Mette-Marit returned to work today for one day. The matter will be resolved by the Norwegian royal house from the work calendar.

Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit organized a reception for the Norwegian athletes who participated in the Milan-Cortina Paralympic Games. Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Prince Sverre Magnus will also attend the reception.

VG– according to the Norwegian magazine, Mette-Marit used an oxygen catheter during the reception. This is the first time that Mette-Marit used an oxygen catheter in public.

Mette-Marit has represented herself publicly for the last time in January. At the end of March, the Crown Princess was attended by the King of Belgium Philippe’s and for Queen Mathilde’s state visit.

Mette-Marit’s use of an open oxygen catheter is praised by the Norwegian Heart, Lung and Stroke Association (LHL).

– Crown Princess Mette-Marit is showing important and courageous leadership when she is now open about her need for oxygen treatment. It means more to people living with lung disease than many may realize, LHL Secretary General Magne Wang Fredriksen praises.

– The use of a breathing aid is not a sign of weakness, but of strength and the will to live an active life despite the illness, adds the general secretary.

Hov had previously been informed that Mette-Marit’s health had deteriorated, and she would not necessarily participate in the state visit. The Crown Princess suffers from chronic pulmonary fibrosis. In December, it was reported that a lung transplant is being planned for the crown princess.

Hovi announced the crown princess’s illness for the first time in October 2018. At that time, Hovi announced that Mette-Marit has been diagnosed with a chronic lung disease that may affect her ability to perform her representative duties.

In addition to her health condition, Mette-Marit has been in the headlines for her connections with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The name of the crown princess was mentioned more than a thousand times in the Epstein documents released at the end of January. With the uproar, the crown princess has, among other things, lost her co-operations.

In March, Mette-Marit gave an interview to the Norwegian broadcasting company NRK. In the interview, Mette-Marit said that the past weeks have been difficult for her family. In addition to the Epstein uproar, the family has been overshadowed by the trial of Mette-Marit’s son Marius Borg Høiby.

When the reporter asked about the future role of the crown princess at court, Mette-Marit answered:

– I live with a serious illness, and it now marks my everyday life. It determines whether I can even function in my role or not.
