Beau van Erven Dorens and Humberto Tan are not so much furious with Renze Klamer because of his clumsy Instagram post, but because he literally pushed them out of it. “Eight months!”

They are seen by the outside world as sore losers: Beau van Erven Dorens and Humberto Tan. The gentlemen are constantly talking about Renze Klamer, albeit more indirectly than directly, and that creates negative energy. Critics currently thought that Renze’s clumsy Instagram post (“just turned over a table!”) was the reason.

Furious at Renze

However, TV critic Victor Vlam states that something else is going on. The tone of that Insta post was ‘stupid, clumsy and insensitive’, he says, ‘triumphant’ even, but: “It is very clear that things are not going well between Renze and Beau and Humberto, but there is really a war going on behind the scenes.”

And according to him, that war does not start because of a message on Insta. “I heard the whole story from a reliable source around the program as it circulates at the offices of RTL Tonight. Beau and Humberto are not angry with Renze because of his postbut because he sidelined them with a cunning negotiating tactic.”

Real shark bay

How exactly does that work? Victor continues in the podcast Victor Indicates TV: “Together with his manager Myrthe van Pelt – who is a real shark, you could say, a good manager must be, by the way, Xenia Kasper from Linda de Mol also has that reputation – that Renze has claimed the late talk show of RTL from the RTL management.”

He continues: “That was not RTL’s original plan, because after stopping RTL Tonight they actually wanted to go back to the situation as it was before RTL Tonight: Beau, Humberto and Renze would each get their own talk show back and they would take turns presenting. However, Renze did not agree to that.”

Control

Renze really wants to put his own stamp on the show, Victor explains. “He wanted more control over the talk show, he believes that his ideas have not been listened to enough in the past and that is also what he sees as one of the reasons why RTL Tonight flopped. The only way to gain control is to carry the talk show as a solo host.”

This means that he will perform five evenings a week for eight months a year. “And that means that Beau, Humberto and Renze are no longer three equals. Renze is now the star of the late evening, at the expense of the other two.”

Relegation

That is a disaster for Beau and Humberto, according to Victor. “Even if Beau and Humberto take care of the other four months, they are actually relegated to Renze’s substitutes, who take over when Renze goes on holiday. For them this is a big demotion and they experience it as being sidelined.”

Sidelined ‘by a cunning negotiating tactic by Renze and his shark bay manager’, according to VIctor. “Obviously it is a decision by RTL, but they did not have much choice, because without Renze the late evening with Beau, Humberto and Leonie would most likely be a losing battle.”

Sewing area

Beau, Humberto and their colleague Leonie ter Braak are really the faces of the failed RTL Tonight. People will immediately think of a flop when those three come into view.

“And Renze now becomes the leading man of RTL’s late evening. Beau and Humberto experience this as a ploy by their colleague and this is the reason why they are openly lashing out at him,” Victor concludes.
