It is quite quiet around singer Claude (22). After his participation in the Eurovision Song Contest, we hear relatively little from this young man. What exactly happened? “I have ended up in a valley.”
Claude participated in the Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of our country last year, but is of course still very young. Such a huge media circus makes more of an impression than on a seasoned artist. And that has repercussions: the young singer ended up in a deep valley after his participation, because after all those months of preparations it was suddenly very quiet.
Very quiet
The Dutch celebrity magazine Weekend also notices that there has been little commotion surrounding Claude for quite some time. “After the international cameras went out and the spotlights went out, it became quiet around the singer. Very quiet. While everyone expected Claude to maintain his success, the hit machine unexpectedly started to falter.”
The single Amour, which was released six months after the festival, ‘barely managed to make waves’, according to Weekend. “And his most recent record, Eb & Vloed, launched in January, has not yet reached the charts.”
Cold emptiness
What happened to Claude? “He fully agrees – and with audible emotion in his voice – that after the European adventure he fell into a cold void. After the bright spotlight of his crazy Eurovision year, the light in his head suddenly went out.”
He himself says: “I must say that I entered a valley. That is because the high point was so high that at one point I thought: what am I supposed to feel now? That also brings you down to the ground. I had that after the busy year that I had had. A black hole.”
Bachelor
Claude also seems to be struggling with his orientation, says Weekend. According to the magazine, the singer still does not want to confirm whether he is indeed attracted to boys. “He always maintains a mysterious silence about this and has never wanted to confirm rumors in that direction. His mantra is that he is simply single.”
Or, as he himself states: “I am currently giving a lot of love to myself.”
