After Page Six reported that Natasha Lyonne was escorted off a plane for allegedly ignoring instructions from cabin crew, the actress came forward with an apology of sorts. “My heart is with all the unpaid TSA agents at our airports,” she wrote on social media – accompanied by a 💞 emoji.

“Sure was looking forward to speaking honestly with Drew Barrymore yesterday but guess wasn’t in the cards. Who owns page six/New York Post now again?” The answer to this question: the Murdoch family via News Corp. Lyonne had been booked as a guest on Wednesday’s episode of “The Drew Barrymore Show.”

On Thursday morning, Page Six reported that the actress appeared “completely absent” in first class on an overnight flight from LA to New York shortly after the season three premiere of Euphoria on Tuesday. (Lyonne guest stars in the season.) She reportedly did not respond to cabin crew requests to close her laptop and fasten her seatbelt. According to Page Six, Lyonne appeared to be sleeping behind dark sunglasses and was said to have startled flight crew at one point by saying, “Ah, you scared me.”

Return to the gate

Although the cabin crew had taken her laptop and the plane was already taxiing to the runway, it returned to the gate, where staff helped Lyonne disembark. According to Page Six, Lyonne “calmly silenced” an airport employee who had come on board to check on everything. According to the report, the delay lasted around an hour.

A spokesman for Lyonne did not initially respond to a request from ROLLING STONE.

In January, Lyonne, who has long struggled with her sobriety, wrote on social media that she had relapsed. “Recovery is a lifelong process,” it said. “Anyone out there struggling, remember you’re not alone.”
