Beau van Erven Dorens furiously ran into the editorial office of competitor Pauw & De Wit to ask if they still need a presenter, says Angela de Jong. Job Knoester: “Stop whining!”
It is now clear that Beau van Erven Dorens and Humberto Tan are completely upset about the decision of the channel’s top management to take their failed program RTL Tonight off the air and to deploy Renze Klamer as the great savior. However, it is time for the two to be called to order, because this could damage Renze’s image.
Rusty bread knife
Angela de Jong states that Beau in particular is really in a state of dismay. “I got the story of the week that he stormed into the editorial office of Pauw & De Wit on Monday, Beau, because he was so angry at what had been done to him by RTL and Renze that he asked if there was still a place for him there. If they were still looking for a presenter there.”
She continues in the AD Media Podcast: “He was talking about a rusty bread knife that had been stabbed in the back by RTL and by Renze. So no, this will not be very easy for Renze when he starts there.”
Funny or angry?
Did Beau mean that funny or is he really angry? “He was really indignant about the turn of events. Of course it was a joke, but a joke is a signal, shall we say?”
Her colleague Dennis Jansen, media journalist from the AD, thinks it is ‘cry-cry’ behavior, and Beau agrees with that: “You don’t hear this very often, that a presenter simply storms into the editorial office of a competitor to ask if they are still looking for a presenter.”
Childish
Today Inside guest Job Knoester thinks it is too sad for words. “To be honest, I’m getting tired of hearing those two whining, don’t you think?” he says at the table. SBS 6 talk show.
René van der Gijp cannot believe the story about the storming of Pauw & De Wit. “Really?! That’s all childish.”
Wilfred Genee: “If that is true, yes.”
Johan Derksen: “He was already a bit burned on TV, wasn’t he? He was a bit annoyed.”
Sabotage
VI guest Valentijn Driessen finds Beau and Humberto’s behavior resentful. Sore losers, he thinks of them. “They are now trying to sabotage things a bit, of course with Renze, so he also fails.”
Johan in his podcast Greetings from Grolloo: “They suddenly hate Renze, but he has drawn his consequences. He has seen: this will never get off the ground, I will step out, because it will only damage my career. He saw that well and that was also courageous.”
Dislikes himself
If Beau and Humberto were as critical as Renze, they wouldn’t be in trouble now, according to Johan. “Renze now comes back as the great victor and now they hate it and hate Renze, but they should hate themselves.”
RTL Tonight is still on the air for two months, so that is quite an ordeal for Beau and Humberto. Only after the summer will Renze return to the air with his own late talk show.
