(An earlier version of the article stated that the communication came from the Revolutionary Guards. The correct wording should be Port Authority, which refers to the Revolutionary Guards. The first paragraph has been corrected accordingly.)

TEHRAN (dpa-AFX) – The Iranian port authority has advised ships not to pass through the Strait of Hormuz without prior coordination with the Iranian Revolutionary Guards. The authority referred to the danger of mines in the important strait after weeks of war in a message that was distributed, among other things, on the state news channel Khabar-Fouri and the state broadcaster IRIB.

The Iranian Fars news agency had previously reported that Iran had suspended shipping traffic through the important strait in protest over Israeli attacks in Lebanon. According to Fars, only two oil tankers have passed through the Strait of Hormuz since the ceasefire began./lkl/DP/he
