Beau van Erven Dorens is extremely indignant about losing his late-night talk show on RTL 4. Should he ever get that kind of program again? “Not if I was the boss!”

RTL 4’s decision to take him off late in the evening ensures that Beau van Erven Dorens walks around Hilversum cursing and ranting. He bashes Renze Klamer left and right and shows himself to be a sore loser. Does the general public even want to see the 55-year-old Beau again in a talk show or is it now enough?

Insane

Private boss Evert Santegoeds thinks it is insane that Beau angrily stormed into the editorial office of Pauw & De Wit. “Yes, what kind of story is that?! It wouldn’t be possible just for the title of the program. Pauw is nice and short, De Wit is quite short and then you get Pauw, De Wit and Van Erven Dorens. Well, the set is not built for that.”

Should he ever get a talk show again? “Well, if I were the boss, not, but yes, fine,” he says Strictly Private. “Beau should mainly do those programs in which he uses his name, such as Beau Five Days Inside. Those kinds of things are fun with Beau, I think, but Beau who is going to see through ministers, well, I don’t see that happening anytime soon.”

Not much point

Telegraaf reporter Jordi Versteegden wonders whether Beau still wants that himself. “I don’t know whether he really wants to do that anymore. Still, I think it’s strange, because he recently posted that he came home crying after he heard that RTL Tonight was ending. Then I think: yes, how long have you been involved?”

Evert: “Yes, boy, boy, a Sunday child through and through. Things have always gone well for him and now things are going wrong for him. Boy, straighten your back and move on!”

Nice way

And what about Humberto Tan? “Same story. He had already stopped his talk show twice and he comes back every time. They make the best of it, but you can see that it happens with enormous reluctance,” says Evert.

He concludes: “Finish it in a nice way and without any of this nonsense!”
