Bad news for VfB Stuttgart. Top striker Deniz Undav is reportedly demanding a further salary increase in return for a contract extension with the Swabians. His financial demands are reaching record levels.
With his fantastic performances in the 2025/26 season, Deniz Undav has made himself indispensable for VfB Stuttgart – and soon perhaps also priceless?
According to the TV channel “Sky”, the striker is playing high poker. It is said that Undav is demanding a record salary to extend his contract, which expires in 2027. The national player currently collects around 4.5 million euros per season from the Swabians. His wish: a salary increase to a whopping six million.
Should VfB agree to this, the 29-year-old would become the highest-paid player in the club’s history. Will that happen? That is not yet foreseeable.
Undav wants to stay at VfB, but…
According to Sky, both the player and the club are keen to expand their collaboration. However, the people of Stuttgart have to decide beforehand how far they want to go financially out of the window. If they don’t accommodate the Undav side enough, there is a risk of the team’s most accurate striker leaving next summer.
According to “Sky” information, some clubs are currently looking at the situation at VfB. They all hope that there will be no agreement and that the transfer door will open. The interested clubs are said to include Bayer Leverkusen, as well as several clubs from abroad.
Undav had increased his market value in the last few months with a series of top performances and goals. In the league he scored 18 times in 24 games for VfB. In the DFB Cup he also took photos in both the round of 16 and quarter-finals. In the Europa League he was successful three times in ten games.
