Bayern Munich’s coach Julian Nagelsmann “likes” to let it rip.
“Not often, of course. Après ski in particular is something nice. Of course, it was a long time ago because of Corona. Of course, I really like having contact with people. You have a lot of nice encounters there and I like it when people notice that you too somehow remained normal,” said the 34-year-old in an interview with “Prime Video”.
He would also be “proud,” said Nagelsmann, “if I won the Champions League three times. But being a good person, a good father, being a good friend is worth more at the end of life than winning the Champions League three times – but still is a goal worth striving for.”
Personally, what worries the Bayern coach “most is that my dad never noticed that I became a coach. The fact that he doesn’t realize that I’m now a coach at Bayern Munich, those are moments, just like the Champions League -Semi-finals with Leipzig, you go to a stadium and you wish your dad would sit up there and be happy and proud. Those are sad moments,” Nagelsmann admitted.
Despite the pressure at Bayern, he sees no risk of burnout. In stressful moments, he tries “to do things that make me happy in my free time a little more. Or to really use the day off freely,” said Nagelsmann.
He even had tests done on the risk of burnout: “I’m at zero percent. There are actually few people who are at zero percent. I had no risk and I hope the machine is right.”
