It was the talk of the town for a few days: the divorce of Jan Smit and Liza Plat. She in particular received a lot of negative publicity, because she was said to be a very annoying girl. In addition, Jan feared that she would kill someone in Volendam. It’s all a huge hassle, but now it’s suddenly quiet around the two.
Contested divorce
How are things going? Telegaf reporter Jordi Versteegden wonders. “It seems a bit quiet around Jan Smit’s divorce. Is there any news?” he says in the podcast Strictly Private.
Private boss Evert Santegoeds has no answer ready. “No, there is little news. That is all being arranged now. Both parties will have a lawyer or perhaps it will soon turn out that they have one lawyer, because I do not believe that the approach is to turn it into a contested divorce.”
Two tons
Where will Liza live with the children? “We don’t know anything yet about the house where Liza will live. There was talk last week that a house in Volendam that had not been for sale for very long had been overbid by €200,000. This could mean that that is the house he is going to buy for Liza and his family, around the corner from his own house.”
Jan will simply return to that, Evert decides. “Yes, after the adventure in Broek en Waterland he would of course return to Volendam and to his own home. Little else has been released about that, but I’m back, so who knows, we might have another nice update from the always turbulent Volendam next week.”
