Röglen Albin Sundsvik roared the Färjestad guard Emil Larmin over in the seventh game of the SHL quarterfinals on Sunday.
Based on the TV pictures, Sundsvik tried to dodge Larmi a bit, but the center still hit the Finnish keeper’s head violently. After the hit, Pussari lay down on the ice for a while and then tried to get up, but ended up falling back onto the ice.
– I hope everything is fine with Larmi. The man can’t stand up, MTV commentator Teppo Laaksonen comment on the situation.
Finally Larmi got up, but he marched straight into the dressing room, and Melker Thelin skated to Färjestad’s goal.
Sundsvik, on the other hand, survived the situation completely without penalty, as the hit came outside the goalkeeper’s area. The judges examine the situation on video.
The unpleasant situation happened at the beginning of the second period, when Rögle led 3–1. The situation is still the same at the end of the second period.
The match series is at 3–3. The winner of the game advances to the semi-finals, where they will face Växjö.
Larmi has been Leijoni’s credit keeper in recent years. He has represented Finland at the World Cup level three times.
