Last November, cross-country skiing pair sprint Olympic winner and two-time world champion Jessie Diggins announced that she will end her skiing career for the 2025–26 season.
To top it all off, Diggins, 34, picked up the fourth World Cup win of his career in his farewell season.
Diggins now posted an update on social media about what he’s been up to since his career ended. In a video published on Instagram, Diggins’ spouse Wade Poplawski takes on a rather flamboyant role.
– Well, here we are with a retired, old hag… Poplawski starts to joke.
At this point, Diggins, who is driving the car, bursts into laughter.
The joke goes on.
– With Jessie Diggins, who has seen her best days. One week of retirement time behind, how has it been? Poplawski asks.
– I feel so old and tired. Seriously, I’ve been sleeping like 10 hours every night. It feels like my body is trying to recover from the last 15 years all at once, Diggins explains.
Diggins’ spouse Poplawski’s disdain does not stop here. Diggins, the ex-ski star behind the wheel of the car, can’t help but laugh as Poplawski continues his silly questions.
Diggins and Poplawski got married in 2022. Poplawski has a hockey background. He played at the university level as a junior and for one season in the CHL league.
