Jokers Ville Leskinen was ordered to a temporary ban on Saturday. The Jokerit will therefore have to go to Saturday’s fourth final match without their star striker.
The setback is big for the club, because the championship is interrupted for the Jokers on Saturday.
Leskinen was sent off on Friday for a tackle on the head or neck area. The joker attacker tackled Imatra Ketterä Juho from Hallika in front of the change boxes, and the situation was checked on video.
The decision was surprising on MTV Katsomo’s broadcast, because the situation did not look like a clear exit based on the TV pictures.
– Something must happen because what we saw… There is nothing in it. Its [Leskisen] gotta hit it [Hallikasta]when it lies, expert Juhamatti Aaltonen wondered.
The player is temporarily suspended from the date of the temporary suspension until the disciplinary official makes a decision on the length of the suspension.
On Friday, Leskinen played in Jokeri’s second chain. His place will be taken in Saturday’s match Bruno Kallio.
The fourth final match starts on Saturday at 17:00.
