Until… yesterday, Yann Aurel Bisseck was the fittest Inter defender of all. No national team to follow, no travel, just a lot of work in Appiano under the watchful eye of Cristian Chivu. Practically an untouchable. Having said that Bisseck and Bastoni, two who in ideal conditions would stand firmly in front of Sommer (but the latter will do so anyway, despite a psychological condition that is far from ideal), let’s see how Chivu could make up for the certain absence of the German. The most accredited hypothesis leads to a diversion of Akanji from the center of the defense to the right, in place of Bisseck, with Bastoni still starting on the centre-left and the insertion of one of the two “old guys” of the defence, i.e. one between Acerbi and De Vrij with the former potentially favourite. So far, everything is quite linear. But then? What if a problem of any type were to unfortunately arise during the match? Here the alarm would sound loudly again, because if it is likely that the starters will be Akanji, Acerbi and Bastoni, on the other hand Chivu will find himself with a very short bench as far as defense is concerned. Or De Vrij and… that’s it. Of course, one of Darmian or Dimarco could be moved back, but it would be an adaptation. Not the ideal situation for one of the most important matches of the season, also considering the possibility of extending the lead on Milan or Napoli who will take points away from each other at Maradona on Easter Monday evening…
