American rap artist Gucci Mane or by Radric Davis46, was allegedly held up at gunpoint and robbed in Dallas in January.
the BBC eight men were arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of kidnapping and armed robbery. There is also a ninth suspect in the case, who is still at large.
One of the main suspects is an artist Pooh Shiesty or Lontrell Williams Jr.26, who is signed to Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records label. Pooh Shiesty signed a recording contract with 1017 Records in 2020.
Prosecutors allege that on January 10, Pooh Shiesty lured Gucci Mane into an ambush under the guise of a meeting. Gucci Mane was then held captive in a recording studio and forced to sign papers releasing Pooh Shiesty from his recording contract.
Pooh Shiesty allegedly threatened Gucci Mane with a gun and took, among other things, his wedding ring, watch and cash.

Prosecutors say the other suspects brandished their guns and demanded property from other victims in the room. One of the victims was injured. Rolling Stone – magazine, among other things, jewelry, a Louis Vuitton bag and Rolex watches were robbed from the victims.
According to the BBC, the suspects can even receive a life sentence if they are convicted.
Pooh Shiesty was released from prison in October. He served three years in prison on a firearms conviction.
