BEIRUT (dpa-AFX) – Three peacekeepers were injured in an explosion at a UN post in southern Lebanon. The United Nations observer mission in Lebanon, Unilfil, said two of them were seriously injured. All were taken to hospital. The cause of the explosion was unclear in the afternoon.
In recent days, there have been several incidents involving peacekeepers in Lebanon as a result of the war between Israel and Hezbollah, with three deaths in the past few days. Unifil spoke of a “difficult week for the peacekeepers”.
The Israeli military said it was reviewing the current UN report. Hezbollah did not initially comment.
