“Masterpieces quickly hidden and doors bricked up”: newspaper reports far-reaching cyber attack on famous museum in Italy, but denies major danger

The world-famous Uffizi Museum in Florence has fallen victim to a major cyber attack, writes the Italian newspaper ‘Corriere della Sera’. As a precaution, top officials were rushed to the Italian central bank and doors and emergency exits were promptly bricked up, it said. The museum confirmed on Friday that it had fallen victim to a cyber attack, but denies any serious danger.
