Known as a keyboard player Christopher North has died at the age of 75, reports Variety. North is remembered as an original member of the rock group Ambrosia. It is one of the most famous American rock bands.
The band shared the sad news on Facebook.
– Ambrosia fans, we honor the legendary life and career of our dearest family member Christopher North, the “King of Hammond B3”, whose sound world defined a generation of progressive and soft rock, the band writes in their social media update.
– As a founding member since 1970, he was a keyboard wizard who brought unparalleled intensity and emotional depth to every performance.
The cause of the musician’s death has not been made public. However, the band mentioned in the update that North had suffered from health problems in recent years. North suffered from throat cancer during his life, which was diagnosed a couple of years ago.
– We are celebrating a true master of the classic rock era, whose rich piano lines and soaring organ chords remain timeless. He was truly one of a kind and deeply loved by his fans and bandmates, the band wrote.
Ambrosia rose to fame in the 1970s. The band’s most famous songs are How Much I Feel, Biggest Part of Me and Holdin’ on to Yesterday.
