Collien Fernandes can now feel a little freer: On Instagram she no longer goes by the name Collien Ulmen, but as “Mrs. Fernandes” since April 2, 2026. “Collien Fernandes” would of course also have been an option – but she will have her reasons.
Name change on Instagram after separation from Christian Ulmen
Since the allegations against Christian Ulmen emerged, Fernandes’ followers have been wondering why she was still called “Collien Ulmen” on Instagram. The couple has been divorced since 2025, and after the allegations of “virtual rape” against Ulmen, it made sense that she would also drop his name on social media.
However, it’s not that easy, especially on Instagram. Anyone who has a blue authenticity tick, i.e. a verified account, must prove their identity beyond any doubt if they want to change their name. Which shouldn’t be difficult – after all, Instagram has already proactively confirmed the authenticity of the respective account. Collien Fernandes has around 656,000 followers on Instagram and has been posting more than ever since the allegations emerged: from demos to her talk show appearances to excerpts from the reporting on her case.
Ulmen’s lawyer announces an interim injunction against “Spiegel”.
Christian Ulmen’s lawyer Christian Schertz has meanwhile announced an interim injunction against “Spiegel”. At the center of the application are several points of reporting on the allegations made by Ulmen’s ex-wife Fernandes. Ulmen particularly objects to the claim that he created and distributed deepfake videos of Fernandes. In addition, the application is directed against the suspicion that he repeatedly committed physical attacks and seriously threatened his ex-partner. From Ulmen’s point of view, a specific statement regarding the summons and cancellation of a court date in Mallorca was also misrepresented.
After days of silence, Ulmen’s law firm is questioning Fernandes’ entire allegations.
