It couldn’t be more bizarre: professional boxer Dereck Chisora rode through London on a tank. With the right-wing populist politician Nigel Farage at his side, the British heavyweight arrived at the press conference for his upcoming fight. The 42-year-old will face the American Deontay Wilder on Saturday in what will probably be his last professional duel at the O2 Arena in London.
The battle date of April 4th could be read on the tank’s cannon and on the license plate. “Crazy entry by Chisora and Nigel Farage,” wrote the streaming service DAZN on a video of the action.
The boxers’ balance sheets
According to DAZN, the 42-year-old Chisora, who goes by the fighting name “War” in the ring, has announced that the encounter with Wilder will be his last appearance in the ring. It is the 50th professional fight for both boxers.
Chisora’s record shows 36 wins and 13 defeats. Wilder, who is two years his junior, has celebrated 44 wins, plus one draw and four defeats. For him, the duel against Chisora should be preparation for a possible fight against three-time world champion Oleksandr Usyk from Ukraine.
