UPDATED ODDS FOR FOURTH PLACE CHAMPIONS
—
At the resumption of the Serie A championship, with eight matches still to be played, Inter are on the run for the Scudetto with 69 points but cannot feel safe because Milan and Napoli are respectively six and seven points behind. Three teams that are virtually considered already in the Champions League: this is the thinking of the bookies of the main betting sites. At stake, therefore, is a place, the fourth, which is worth at least 50 million euros for the clubs that will launch into the final sprint: Como (57), Juventus (54), Roma (54) and, in the background, Atalanta (50) are considered in the running for the big target.
The three-point advantage over their opponents currently puts Como ahead of their rivals, also because it comes from five consecutive victories, two of which were obtained against Juventus and Roma, i.e. direct competitors for the same goal. The Fabregas miracle is starting to scare everyone: the Lombard team, which is also in the semi-finals of the Italian Cup (they have to play the return leg in Milan with Inter after the 0-0 draw on the lake) will resume their run from Udine in search of their sixth success in a row.
For the moment, Como is the team that bookies see as favorites for fourth place: odds of 1.85 on Admiralbet, Netbet and William Hill and 1.72 on Sisal.
FABREGAS’ RIVALS
—
The three-point advantage certainly does not place Como in a safe situation, also because behind them Juventus and Roma, tied at 54 points, are in full swing for the same goal as the Lombards. The Juventus club had chosen Spalletti instead of Tudor so as not to miss a goal that is still within reach but for which they must increase the pace, which was too slow before the break. Juve had lost against Inter and, indeed, Como and had drawn at home with Lazio, slowing down in a race in which they really seemed to be the big favourites.
Juve, today, is on the board at odds of 2.75 on Admiralbet, Netbet and William Hill. In the lead, according to the bookies, only for the fact that they will face Genoa at the restart. A commitment on paper considered less demanding than that of Roma, expected in Milan by Inter: a match perhaps decisive for the Scudetto and for the Champions League zone. The Giallorossi, also beaten by Como (and Genoa), are on the board at 4.00 on Admiralbet, Netbet and William Hill.
THE LAST CANDIDATE
—
From a mathematical point of view, while Inter, Milan and Napoli are only considered in the race for the title, Palladino’s Atalanta, which has 50 points, is also in fourth place. It would take a sensational feat of eight successes in a row to hope: and in fact his odds settled at 35.00 on Netbet and 30.00 on Admiralbet and William Hill.
