Top cardiologist Pedro Brugada: “The government should give all Belgians with obesity free Ozempic or Wegovy”

The British government wants to soon offer the weight-loss drug Wegovy for free to more than a million people who are overweight and have previously suffered a heart attack or stroke. “Absolutely a good idea,” says top cardiologist Pedro Brugada. “In an ideal world, everyone with obesity would receive a medicine like Ozempic for free. This includes us. It significantly reduces the risk of new heart problems.”
