The education inspectorate is sounding the alarm: 1 in 5 schools in Flanders receives a failing grade. In high school it’s even worse. The inspectors saw the same pattern in hundreds of classes. Things are going wrong in Flemish schools on these points: from the routine in kindergarten to the ‘fill-in-the-blank disease’ in secondary school. And all this while the teacher is all alone.
