The Berlin eyewear retailer Mister Spex SE opened a new store in the Bergedorf district of Hamburg on Wednesday. At Sachsentor 24, the company now offers its product range and related services in an area of around 250 square meters.
With the new opening, the optician chain now has 67 branches in Germany, four of which are in Hamburg. In a statement, Mister Spex explained the choice of location: “The store in Bergedorf is being built in a high-frequency catchment area, specifically complements the existing network in the Hanseatic city and strengthens the company’s regional presence,” it says there.
At the same time, the company reiterated its strategic guidelines for expansion: “New locations will only be opened in regions with proven economic viability, high brand awareness and clear demand for optical advice,” explained Mister Spex.
Following the recent realignment, the retail chain is focusing on the “selective expansion of its store network” and sees this “as a central driver for profitable growth”. The company attaches great importance to “direct and recurring contact with customers”. Ultimately, this also pays off economically: “Personal exchange is crucial, especially for advice-intensive products such as prescription lenses and services relating to eye health: it enables higher shopping baskets and forms the basis for long-term customer relationships,” emphasized Mister Spex.
