Thomas van Groningen does not recognize Johan Derksen’s criticism that he is on holiday too often. He has no problem with the statements of the VI mustache. “It made me laugh.”

Johan Derksen finds it ridiculous that Thomas van Groningen went on a skiing holiday last week, while we are in the middle of the TV season and he, as a young talent, can present News of the Day. “Then I wouldn’t go drinking with friends somewhere in the snow in the middle of the season. That says a lot about the mentality of that generation,” said the VI star.

Nonsense

Private star journalist Jan Uriot thinks this is ridiculous criticism. “What nonsense. You were also away for a while,” he says in the podcast Strictly Private against colleague Jordi Versteegden. “Evert is gone now and will be back tomorrow.”

He continues: “You just have to be able to get away when there is a good replacement. What kind of nonsense is that? Everything continues as usual if you have good replacements and then you can come back.”

To laugh

What does Thomas himself think of it? Jordi: “I was curious what Thomas thinks about it. I spoke to him and he says: ‘It gave me a good laugh. At my house it is now used all the time as a kind of joke.’”

“He says: ‘If I forget to unload the dishwasher, my girlfriend will start talking about how I have mental problems and then Johan will get another kick in the ass.’ So it is used a bit as a joke at home.”

25 vacation days

Thomas thinks Johan’s criticism is unjustified. “He says: ‘I have 25 vacation days and also some compensation days, I just have to be able to take them.’ For the rest he is always there, where VI often has time off during the year.”

Jan concludes: “What a nonsense.”
