Norwegian Alexander Rybak, 39, won the Eurovision Song Contest Fairy talewith his song in 2009 in Moscow. On Thursday of last week, he ended his short tour of Finland on the shores of Lake Näsijärvi in Teisko.
– Finland will win the Eurovision Song Contest this year, Rybak enthused to Iltalehti.
According to him Flamethrower-song has power, sensitivity and passion, and the charisma of Linda Lampenius and Pete Parkkonen fills the stage.
– On the Eurovision stage, it’s not enough just to catch a tune, you have to have strength and emotion. Will you organize the 2027 Wis final in Tampere or Helsinki? Rybak winks with a smile. With his five-point win in 2009, he broke Lord’s five-point win record.
Rybak no longer does big concerts, but small-scale meet&greet events for less than a hundred people. In them, he meets fans and talks to the audience along with the songs. About 60 people had arrived in the auditorium of the conference hotel in Teisko. Rybak’s violin played and the song rang out, and in between he talked to the audience.

– A lovely, charismatic and skilled artist, mother Soil frost and a daughter Jenna praised and got to take pictures with their idol.
Alexander and Daniel had arrived from Pori to see the artist.
– The style of the music and the man’s skill are fascinating, the young men praised Iltalehte.
Stress and anxiety explained
Rybak won the fives in 2009. In the same year, he started having trouble sleeping.
He suffered eleven years from sleep and antidepressant addiction, which he shared on social media after starting rehab in 2020.
Today, the problems have been overcome. Rybak goes outside a lot and starts every morning with a run.
– I get strength from nature, he says briefly.
Rybak lives in Oslo. In addition to gigging, he also completed film and music studies in the USA, when he lived on the other side of the country.
The past year has been difficult for the artist. There are 36 small-scale concerts held in different parts of Europe, the last of which was just in Teiska. He also gave fifty Christmas concerts, worked on a new album and finished second in the Norwegian five-piece qualifiers. The qualifiers were Rybak’s third. In 2009 he won, in 2018 he finished fifteenth and this year second. He won the qualifiers and will represent Norway in the fives this year Jonas Lovv.
