After five years in the World Cup, Håvard Moseby will no longer be competing in the future. What will happen next for him in the short term is already clear.
Cross-country skier Håvard Moseby has announced the end of his career on Instagram. The 26-year-old shared four pictures from different situations in his career and wrote: “Cross-country skiing was and remains an important part of me. But goals and priorities will change. The dream is over.”

Moseby thanked everyone and teammates who accompanied and supported him on his journey and made it clear that it was a difficult decision, but he is “proud that I was able to enjoy it.” In his “new life” he will now have to complete his studies in Trondheim.
The ski ace has been competing in the World Cup since the 2021/22 season. At the Tour de Ski 2024, he achieved his only podium finish in the competition with third place in the mass start. The Norwegian won three gold and two bronze medals at the U23 World Championships in cross-country skiing between 2020 and 2022. Most recently he finished seventh in the 50 kilometer race at Holmenkollen.
Compatriot Harald Amundsen thanked us for the trips and races together and wrote: “A lot of hard work and results that you can be proud of.” For the Australian cross-country skier Seve de Campo, this past summer of training together takes on even greater significance. “Now I really appreciate the last summer good old days in Oslo,” he commented under the post. Moseby was “an inspiration”.
