Since the beginning of the year, Kennet Eichhorn has not been able to play a game for Hertha BSC due to an ankle injury. However, there appears to have been no change in the great interest from other clubs in the top talent. As “Sky” reports, a delegation from Bayer Leverkusen traveled to Berlin last Wednesday for a secret meeting to meet with the players.

Accordingly, sports director Simon Rolfes and director of professional football Kim Falkenberg held concrete discussions with the 16-year-old’s entourage in order to convince them of a move to the Werkself in the summer. The Leverkusen bosses are said to have presented the youngster’s representatives with a project on how they wanted to develop the defensive midfielder and numbers were also discussed.
According to “Bild” information, if Eichhorn is accepted, he would probably not play for the Rhinelanders from the summer onwards, but would instead spend the coming season on loan at another club – possibly Hertha BSC. After Ibrahim Maza, who moved to Leverkusen for 12 million euros in 2025, he would be the next teenager that the Werkself would bring in from Hertha. So far, six players have gone from Berlin to Bayer (overview: from Hertha to Bayer 04).
According to reports, Eichhorn has a release clause of between 10 million and 12 million euros. But other clubs are also intensively recruiting the teenager, who, with a market value of 20 million euros, is by far the most valuable player in the 2nd Bundesliga. There is also said to have been such a meeting with FC Bayern. RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund, Eintracht Frankfurt as well as Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be interested.

Should Eichhorn, who has made 14 appearances (one goal) for the Berlin professionals so far, pull his clause, he would be one of the ten most expensive sales for the Old Lady and would probably set a record among German U19 transfers. However, a decision has not yet been made. His initial focus is likely to be on returning to the pitch; on Monday he completed his first session with the team since January 17th.
