Money has still come in from the settlement of the bankruptcy, but it disappears completely to priority parties, such as the landlord of the building, the tax authorities and the UWV. There is nothing left for customers and suppliers. “Very sad, but that is the legal order,” said the curator.
Warped kitchen doors
Kitchens & More on Middenweg in Heerhugowaard was declared bankrupt in June 2024. Discussions that NH had with customers, suppliers and the landlord of the building showed that the owner had not had his affairs in order for at least two years.
Twenty customers registered with a wide range of complaints: from undelivered material to poorly fitted counter tops and warped kitchen doors.
Save to get it decent
After the curator’s message, Noemi Jones from Heerhugowaard has no choice but to repair her kitchen at her own expense.
“I just have to start saving again to get it decent,” she says. “You work hard for it and in the end you are left empty-handed. That is really terrible.”
