Biathlon stars separate from manager – and hire mother

Until now, Hanna and Elvira Öberg were managed by Olle Håkansson. This will end in the summer. The successor is very close to the two Swedes.
The success of the biathletes Hanna and Elvira Öberg also means more work away from the cross-country ski trail. Hanna came second in the overall World Cup this summer, Elvira fourth. More and more fan mail is arriving for the Swedes. The family regularly receives letters requesting autographs, especially from Germany.
But the remaining organizational effort is also growing, including inquiries from media and sponsors as well as other appointments. So far, manager Olle Håkansson has taken care of it, but that will end in the summer. The two biathletes announced this. They also explained to the newspaper “Expressen” who will be their successor – it is their mother. “Starting this summer, we will hire Mom to work for us full-time. She will even quit her job to do this,” Elvira explained.
There was no specific trigger for the separation. “I wouldn’t actually say anything happened,” says Elvira. Rather, they want to try “something new”. Mother Viktoria had already supported administration and finances. In the future, she will run the business completely.
The sisters also see advantages in partnerships. “It’s a much more personal contact,” Hanna said. At the same time, her mother also benefits financially, Elvira added: “This means we can also give something back to mom, who accompanied and supported us the whole way.”
