Long-time Bundesliga player Roberto Hilbert is working on his coaching career. But the former winger has to give up his current role.
Former national player Roberto Hilbert has lost his coaching job. Roberto Hilbert was responsible for the U23 team at second division club SpVgg Greuther Fürth. The former Bundesliga professional started his first head coaching position in the men’s division at the start of the season.
As the club announced, they had “agreed to take a new path” with Hilbert. This was preceded by a 2:4 defeat at direct rivals TSV Schwaben Augsburg. The Fürth U23 are now only separated by one point from the direct relegation places.
Hilbert will remain with the club. In the future, the eight-time national player will concentrate on developing young talents on their way to becoming licensed teams. During the season he also completed the DFB Pro license.
