The Swiss main league club HC Ajoie has drifted into a desperate situation in the league and resorted to a really tough solution by firing the head coach To Greg Irelandthe club said on Monday.
The firings come at a critical time, as the club is currently playing a playout series Jussi Tapolan piloted against HC Ambri-Priotta.
Ajoie is 0–3 down in the series. Four losses will result in the qualifying series, where the winner of Switzerland’s second highest league level will face off.
The fourth match of the playout series will be played on Tuesday.

The team is coached by two Finnish hockey legends, from Turku Petteri Nummelin and a man from Jyväskylä Juha-Pekka Hytönen.
