Children with kidney disease currently have no chance of recovery. They always remain patients, live in uncertainty and have to undergo drastic treatments. Kidnie strives for a cure for children with kidney disease, child-friendly treatments and early detection of the risk of kidney damage in children. Their goal is to use research to bring the cure rate from 0 to 25 percent within ten years.
David van Bennekom is the father of two children with a genetic kidney disease and closely follows scientific developments. “We live in a revolutionary time, because a lot is happening in the field of gene therapy.” David believes that this form of therapy will make it possible to cure kidney disease in the future. “Research into gene therapy costs tons of money, but we are going to raise it together.”
Today was a good start: more than 30,000 euros were raised.
