Domen Prevc was the outstanding ski jumper last season. However, the Slovenian high-flyer feels warned after a winter full of successes.
“Especially when you think you know everything and have the matter under control, you have to be aware that you can quickly lose success again. You have to control yourself, keep in mind what brought you here and not lose focus,” “siol.net” quoted Prevc as saying after the final ski flying in Planica.
“Above all, you have to go back to training on May 1st with the idea of being even better next year,” said the 26-year-old, looking ahead again.
Prevc had a superlative season in ski jumping. The Slovenian won the Four Hills Tournament, the Ski Flying World Championships and Olympic gold in the mixed team and on the large hill. The Slovenian also bagged the big crystal ball for the overall World Cup victory.
Special trophy presentation
Brother Peter Prevc presented the “Domenator” with the large crystal ball on Sunday. “That’s something special. You know that he’s the president of OK Planica, but when things go really well, then things go really well. When Peter puts it in your hands, it’s just a very special feeling,” said the best ski jumper of the winter, commenting on the trophy presentation.
Brother Peter won the overall World Cup in 2015/16. Ten years later, Domen followed in his footsteps.
By the way, Prevc can’t go on vacation yet. “First I have to pack my things for home and Zakopane, then there are the media appointments and sponsor appointments. Unfortunately there isn’t enough time for the mountains on Monday, but on Thursday, when I can switch off, I’ll relax and enjoy the time. But I’m looking forward to events like this. After a season like this, I’m really excited,” he revealed.
