Reality TV star Antti Kurhinen was not surprised that at least one Ukrainian drone flew to Finland.

Big Brother – a media personality known from the program Antti Kurhinen thought it was expected that the Ukrainian drone would fly into Finnish airspace. Kurhinen has followed the situation closely, as he has both Finnish and Russian citizenship. His Russian mother lives in Russia.

Low-flying, slow unmanned aerial vehicles were observed in Finnish airspace on Sunday morning. According to current information, one drone has fallen to the ground north of Kouvola and another drone has fallen to the east of Kouvola.

The events are related to Ukraine’s drone operations in the vicinity of Finland. At least one of the drones that fell in Finland is a Ukrainian-made AN196 drone.

Kurhinen does not believe that the drones could have flown to Finland via Russia, as they would probably have been shot down near St. Petersburg. Kurhinen says that he received videos from his cousin who lives in Estonia, according to which drones have been seen at night in Estonia. For this reason, Kurhinen doubts that the drones would have flown through Estonia either with or without permission.

If drones were allowed to fly through certain countries with permission, it would be risky in Kurhinen’s opinion.

– It is a huge risk from the point of view of how Russia thinks. In principle, NATO countries and the Baltics would allow Ukraine to bomb strategically important targets for Russia from their territories. Yes, we are now really moving at the limits of risk. Now Russia has the right to respond to these drone attacks also on NATO countries, because they have come through those countries, Kurhinen analyzes for Iltalehdi.

– Finland has hardly been fully aware of this drone issue, but still it is a NATO country. How do we act in this situation if it escalates further or the arrival of drones continues? The next step and possible escalation are dangerous, he adds.

In other words, whether Finland was aware of the drones or not, in Kurhinen’s opinion the situation is dangerous, because Russia might be indignant about the situation.

Kurhinen also mentions whether sending drones can be a kind of distress call from Ukraine. Kurhinen justifies his reasoning by saying that the US foreign minister Marco Rubio recently announced that the United States is open to the idea of transferring weapons intended for Ukraine to a war in the Middle East.

– Ukraine is about to suffer if the United States completely turns its back, and Europe will not be able to help much. Then Zelensky doesn’t have many options but to either lose the war or drag NATO and the whole of Europe into the war, Kurhinen opens his thoughts.

In Kurhinen’s opinion, it was only a matter of time before Finland and the Baltic countries were “forcefully dragged into the war”.

In Kurhinen’s opinion, the situation is in any case sad for both Ukraine and Finland. According to Kurhinen, Finland now has two options.

– The next step is, in principle, whether we will abandon Ukraine to the mercy of Russia or whether we will fully enter the war if this continues like this.

In Kurhinen’s opinion, Finland must next negotiate with all NATO countries before making decisions.

Kurhinen hopes that, as a NATO member, Finland would not be indifferent to such a situation. In Kurhinen’s opinion, what is needed from Finland now is clarity, open discussion and careful consideration of the next steps if the security situation tightens.

– I strongly hope that now Finland really has determination, calmness and that it doesn’t start to row and feel.
